Numerical Abnormalities: Chromosomal dysfunction can also involve numerical abnormalities, where there is an abnormal number of chromosomes in cells. Examples include aneuploidy (the presence of an abnormal number of chromosomes, such as trisomy or monosomy) and polyploidy (the presence of additional sets of chromosomes). Numerical abnormalities can lead to developmental disorders, birth defects, or pregnancy complications.
