Radiation Therapy: Radiation therapy may be used as part of multimodal treatment approaches for pleural mesothelioma, either before or after surgery, or as palliative therapy to alleviate symptoms and improve quality of life.
Techniques such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) or stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
may be employed to minimize toxicity to surrounding tissues.
