In tumour samples from patients receiving amsacrine, the tumour:plasma concen-
tration ratio ranged from 2:1 to 4.9:1 (Guo et al., 1983). High tissue concentrations of
amsacrine were still present two weeks after treatment (Stewart et al., 1984), the highest concentrations occurring in the gall-bladder, liver and kidney. The concentrations in cerebrospinal fluid were < 2% of the corresponding plasma concentration in one study (Hall et al., 1983) and were undetectable in another (Guo et al., 1983).
