Entrectinib (Short Note)
Entrectinib is an anticancer drug that belongs to a class of medications called tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). It is used for the treatment of certain types of solid tumors that have a specific genetic alteration called NTRK fusion, as well as for the treatment of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has a specific genetic mutation called ROS1 fusion.
Entrectinib works by inhibiting the activity of certain proteins including TRKA, TRKB, TRKC, ROS1, and ALK, which are involved in the growth and spread of cancer cells. By blocking these proteins, entrectinib helps to slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells and shrink tumors.
