Understanding Pain in the Trapezius Muscle

The trapezius muscle is a large, triangular muscle that extends from the base of the skull to the shoulder blade and down to the spine. It plays a crucial role in movements such as shrugging, rotating, and retracting the shoulders. However, the trapezius muscle is also prone to pain and discomfort, which can be debilitating and affect daily activities.

Causes of Trapezius Muscle Pain

  • Poor Posture: Slouching or hunching over can put strain on the trapezius muscle, leading to pain and discomfort.
