Rivastigmine (Side Effects)

Rivastigmine (Side Effects)

  • Common Side Effects: These may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, diarrhea, and dizziness. These side effects are often more common when the medication is first started or when the dose is increased.
  • Serious Side Effects: In rare cases, rivastigmine may cause more serious side effects such as severe gastrointestinal issues, heart rhythm problems, or allergic skin reactions (especially with the patch form).
  • Skin Reactions: With the transdermal patch, some patients may experience skin irritation at the application site. Rotating the application site can help reduce this risk.
