Lifileucel (Mechanism of Action)

Lifileucel is a cell-based immunotherapy treatment used for patients with metastatic melanoma.

Mechanism of Action

• Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TILs): Lifileucel is composed of autologous (patient-derived) tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs). These are immune cells that have naturally infiltrated the tumor and are capable of recognizing and attacking cancer cells.
• Personalized Treatment: The TILs are harvested from the patient’s tumor, expanded and activated in the laboratory, and then infused back into the patient to help the immune system target and destroy cancer cells
