Flexor Hallucis Longus Muscle

It originates from the inferior 2/3rd of the posterior surface of the body of fibula and gets inserted into the plantar surface of base of distal phalanx of big toe (hallux). It is innervated by the tibial nerve and artery supply is through the peroneal artery. It’s chief action is flexion of big toe and plantar flexion of ankle.
