Obturator Internus Muscle
It originates from the medial surface of the obturator membrane, inner surface of the anterolateral wall of pelvis, ischiopubic ramus, ischium, the rim of pubis and posterior bony margins of obturator foramen and gets inserted into the greater trochanter of femur. It is innervated by the nerve to obturator internus and artery supply is through the inferior gluteal artery. It’s chief action is abduction and lateral rotation of femur with extended hip and abduction of femur with hip flexion and it also stabilizes hip while walking.
