Pectoralis minor muscle

It originates from the upper margin and outer border of 3rd-5th rib near the costochondral junction and gets inserted into the medial border and superior surface of coracoid process of scapula. It is innervated through the medial pectoral nerve and artery supply is through the pectoral branch of thoracoacromial trunk. It’s chief function is depression of shoulder, moves scapula forward and downward and raise 3rd-5th rib which aid in inhalation. Clinically increased pressure in the nerves and blood vessels that supplies pectoralis minor muscle leads to pectoralis minor syndrome.
