Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB)

Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB): This is the most common type of gastric bypass surgery. It involves creating a small pouch at the top of the stomach, which is then directly connected to the small intestine, bypassing a large portion of the stomach and the first part of the small intestine.

This reduces the amount of food the

stomach can hold and limits calorie absorption.
