In this article, we will discuss the Management of Cardiac Arrest due to Bradyarrhythmias. So, let’s get started.
Management
Cardiac arrest due to bradyarrhythmias or asystole is managed differently. The steps of management are:
- Intubation, I.V. access and suctioning of obstructing secretions. Heimlich manoeuvre for removal of foreign body. Confirm asystole.
- CPR is continued.
- Control hypoxemia with oxygen (O2) therapy and acidosis by NaHCO3 (1mEq/1 kg I.V.)
- Adrenaline 1mg or atropine (1mg) is given I.V. or intra cardiac depending on the cause.
- External pacing to establish a regular cardiac rhythm.
