According to the American-European Consensus Conference, the diagnostic criteria of ARDS is:-
Acute onset of dyspnea, tachypnea, and hypoxemia.
Profound hypoxemia and absence of left atrial hypertension
Chest radiography revealing bilateral lung infiltration
PaO2/FiO2 equivalent or less than 200 regardless of positive end-expiratory pressure
Pulmonary artery wedge pressure of 18 mmHg or less.
