Diagnosis

Radiography shows increased thickening of joint capsule in frozen shoulder. Inflammation of joint capsule leads to adhesion formation around shoulder joint which leads to restricted Range of Motion. Here is an example of structural difference between a normal shoulder and a frozen shoulder.

Physical Examination includes Range of Motion Test viz. Flexion, Extension, Rotation, Abduction, Adduction Movement of shoulder Joint that classically signifies limited/restricted and painful range of motion.
