What is Dengue Virus?

In this article we will discuss about “Dengue Virus” and also about its “mode of transmission” so, lets get started.

Virus

Group- Group(IV) +ve single stranded RNA virus

Family- Flaviviridae

Genus- Flavivirus

Species- Dengue Virus

Mode of Transmission

It is transmitted to humans through the bite of female Aedes mosquito primarily Aedes Aegypti and other less commonly causing species includes Aedes albopictus, Aedes polynesiensis, and Aedes scutellaris.

This is an endemic illness and occurs regularly in tropical and sub tropical regions around the world.

Incubation period of this virus ranges from 3-14 days or most commonly between 4-7 days.

Insect repellent containing DEET or p-menthane-3,8,-diol or menthoglycol or lemon eucalyptus oil has been found to be very effective against Aedes mosquito.

Thank you for appreciating my efforts my aim is to make professionals as well as general public aware of various diseases so that they seek proper medical help and protect them from getting misleaded.

OMG. That killer virus is too dangerous. 4 years ago my two brothers got that fever but God saved their lives. I never believe before that but Papita’s juice is the one saved my brothers. You know being in the medical field you get so focused on only on medicine and not on miracles but they do happened.

Miracles happens when you have faith and dedication towards your work. We have seen many cases in which patient have overcame from debilitating conditions only because of their will power and their inner strength, this faith and strength results in miracles.
